Welcome!
My name is Wendy and I am slightly obsessed with all things photography. My goal for 2010 is to take a photo a day and post it here, on this blog. At the end of the year, I should have a pretty good idea what 2010 looked like. Let's hope 2010 looks better than 2009.
Day-old bunnies. My son discovered them when he went to feed the rabbits. They were cold and crying so he brought them inside and we warmed them up on a heating pad. They now reside in my bathtub with the mother rabbit. We hope she decides to feed them soon. Keep your fingers crossed. There are 5 of them.
She's a golden doodle. A golden retriever/poodle mix. She only sheds a tiny bit, is super gentle with the kids, but she does bark like a poodle. Her only downfall. Otherwise she's a great dog. :)
Sometimes the only agreeable subject is the dog...
Thank you! I actually used to participate every week in the iheartfaces fix-it Fridays where everyone takes the same SOOC image and post processes it in their own way. I have several of those on my blogsite and on my personal blog too. I don't think I can post photos on formspring so I'm pointing you to my blogsite instead. :)
Hawaii is my favorite place to vacation. With and without kids. You've got the sun, the beach, the ocean, and clean towels. What more do you need? Actually I must say my favorite thing about Hawaii this time of year is spotting whales from the shore. Just ask my family. I think I drove them crazy with my constant whale sightings.
Honestly, I use manual 100% of the time. I went from shooting everything on auto to shooting everything in manual. It's just what I know and what I use. In fact, can you even shoot in A or S with a D700? I don't even know. I may have to read my manual again.
Sadly, I am not a bag-a-holic. Only because I'd rather have new lenses instead. So I schlep along my ugly Nikon camera bag when I travel. My camera has also been found in my purse on many occasions.
Since I'm behind, I thought I'd post one more today.
Today was spent getting ready for Erik's birthday party tomorrow. We're having lots of blue food because , in the books, Percy Jackson eats blue foods because he's Poseidon's son. Needless to say, this particular cupcake will not be a part of the party. :)
Definitely read Understanding Exposure! The best book for learning how and why your camera does what it does and how to make it do what you want it to. I also like Scott Kelby's books.
I use CS4 (Photoshop). I took an amazing class on it and learned a ton. I have lots of actions but don't use them very often since I now know why they do what they do and I can do them myself now. :)
I try and get correct exposure in camera first. It totally makes post processing so much quicker and easier and makes for a great finished image. I shoot in raw so I make a few adjustments in ACR and then do some saturation boosts in CS4. A few curves adjustments and a quick sharpen. It depends on the image, but that's pretty much how it usually goes.
Happy 9th Birthday to my guy!!!
Someone got his braces on today. I see lots of soup and smoothies in his future.
Oh, I love you for saying that! That totally makes my day! Feel free to ask that question as often as you want. :)
Let's see, I've spent that last year reading, practicing, workshopping, practicing, watching, practicing, asking questions, and practicing all the while neglecting the cleaning, the laundry, extracurricular reading, the cooking, the gym, etc... Just ask my husband. :)
My kids are all 3 years apart, give or take a few months. We spaced them out like that so we wouldn't have two in diapers at the same time and to give each enough time to be "the baby". I think it worked out OK so far. :)
We spent the evening at our local park. I have a number of gripes about where we live. Each gripe takes its turn at the top of the list. Tonight our town's lack-of-a-decent-kid-friendly-park made it to #1. This kid tested out the safety of the weathered, metal, dated playground equipment this evening. Needless to say, it failed miserably judging by the gash on his chin, the bruises on his shins and the missing skin on his calves. We came home and he soaked in the tub. It's magical what a nice hot bath can do for the soul.
Thanks for letting me gripe. :)
SERiously still fuming!
Maybe I oughta go get in the tub...
Big air fun.
Just a typical Saturday playing Keep Away with the dog.
Guess where we went on our date night...
I was going for something completely different but my balance isn't what it used to be and I kept running out of sidewalk. But I still like this.
A sure sign of spring. Although I was bundled up in my down jacket, lying on the ground waiting for the blustery winds to stop long enough for the daffodil to "pose" for me. Still not sure the focus was there but that's all I've got for today.
I wouldn't push him on the swing. For the 25th time today.
Made cupcakes for Erik's birthday to take to school tomorrow. I hope the dog doesn't eat them all while we're sleeping...
I'm totally playing catch-up. Humor me.
It's beginning to look a little like spring. A typical afternoon in our backyard.
Boys. A house full of them. Love em!
Spring is creeping in (I think. I hope). We spent some time outside willing the good weather to stay.
Yay! My Moo cards finally came. They're smaller than I thought but great to include in clients' orders.
The view from our hotel window in Las Vegas.
I really really wish I actually needed glasses because I think they're fun to wear. These are my mom's I snagged and snapped a quick shot while she was out visiting.
I have no idea what day I'm supposed to be on. I'm way behind but I'll catch up during spring break next week.
This is from my second newborn session. It was today. It was challenging but so, so fun. I love newborns!
I'm in Las Vegas at WPPI with Jasmine for a few days. We're having fun at the Lensbaby booth at the trade show. :)
Buddies
Aren't they the sweetest when they're sleeping?
It's Dr. Seuss week at school. Can you tell today is crazy hair day?
BATHTIME!
For the last day of "Things I Love" month, I'm posting a picture of my husband. Tomorrow he's turning an age that is spelled 4-0 but that sounds like twenty-nine. He's awesome!
